The island of Sylt (second to Hamburg) is our home. In Westerland we have our showroom in an old Frisian house. We love the island, and which of course is better still, the island loves us.

Please visit us again. And if you come to Sylt, but here let me describe what we love about the island of Sylt Sun You might look over there, then have a go.

The first is undoubtedly a lot of nature. Wind, waves, dunes. Every season is worth a walk through the island. A similar landscape and climate is only found on the two Danish islands Romo and Fano. The other islands of the North Sea are very different. If we find there a more regional agricultural athmosphere. On Sylt we feel free, a feeling that makes us aimlessly and wide. At least thats how I feel.

You get the this feeling from Hörnum to List. Rent a bike and go. Or take a long walk on the beach. Always along the water. 40 km walk on the beach of Sylt!

Shall I describe the restaurant on the beach at all? This has been documented so much already! Nevertheless, the Zanzibar is really worth. The stage 16 is really beautiful.

Overall: Food. Even on Sylt there are some really bad restaurants! But also many that are really worth while and a real experience. The Old Ferry House in Munkmarsch. Jörg Müller, the copper pot. Gosch. But of course the pearls that are not hyped up daily in newspapers and magazines such as the Old Bakery in List, the Little Tea room in Keitum, Casa Bianca (an Italian) in Westerland.

Beautiful (and somewhat bizarre) is also the Woyton at the end of Friedrichstrasse, a "Fast"cafe. On the first floor you sit with a beautiful sea view. What is interesting, especially in winter is, if you are looking for just a little bit of a sea view. If you can get a table.

I don't even have to comment on the whiskey on the street in Kampen. It has been documented so much already. But do not let yourself become confused. Seen and be seen? So what? It is still beautiful.

Is Sylt really the most expensive island in Germany? Yes, it is. At least if you want to buy a house. And if you want to drink a coffee in Kampen. (There used to be a saying fifty-one Heiermann Kamp, Kamp therefore a fiver. That says something, right?)

But then there is some good news. Namely, the service sector there is completely different than usual. For example we prefer having our cars repaired and maintained on Sylt rather than Hamburg. It is cheaper and more reliable. The artisans work there of course, for good money, but in general the companies are reliable, both in terms of time and financially. And it is hardly necessary to agree on price and delivery date in writing. A handshake is enough. At least we have dones so and have never been disappointed. You might say the islanders live behind the moon. But I like this kind of old-fashioned.

And even if one must pay more than anticipated, we usually laugh and say that because the tradition of pirates strikes through with the locals. Could be. However, like Captain Hook used to say: "The form stays preserved." Everyone is always friendly. Never is waiter more distinguished than the guests.

Our scene is of course is that of the interior designer. And the antiques dealers. For which we paint the furniture. Where it is worth looking? Here are a few links to the antiques: Mylin, Moesgaard, Ole Grill Box, Peter Gerdt, and not least for everything Metal: Manni Hafenstein.

The interior designers and interior designers can be found on Sylt.de. Or call us if we can help you with the choice.

Sylt is still a small, manageable and comfortable place to vacation and to live. We are often asked if we are not all to upscale. What can I respond? Everything here is like in normal life. The lunatics are evenly distributed. Again, there are a few of them. But in reality it seems as though there a few less there than elsewhere. An island, where it is considered chic to not be so chic, can not be so bad. And just as it is here. In general you do not boasts here, good behavior is always to show as quietly as possible what you have. And that's something.

I fell comfortable here!
